If you love baseball and the idea of
sharing your home with a possible future major leaguer, have we got an
opportunity for you!
We are currently searching for host families for the 2008 summer season. Our
players travel from all over the United States to spend a summer here in
Delaware sharpening their baseball skills in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate
League. They are students who have been recommended by a college coach or major
league scout because of their potential to succeed as a professional baseball
player.
These young men have a positive influence in our community and in your home.
Many past host families have developed friendships with players that continue
long after the season ends and have enjoyed watching their player's progress in
their careers, be it in professional baseball or other.
This is a great opportunity to receive one-on-one mentoring for the young
ballplayer in your family. However, you need not have ballplayers in your family
or even have children in the house in order to enjoy the experience. “Sometimes
I think Chris and I get more out of them being around than they get out of us.
We have so much fun,” current host parent Tom Jackson said of his family's
relationship with the players they have housed.
A host family provides a place for a Cows player to live during the baseball
season from early June through the first week of August. Typically this is the
only requirement of the host. Meals are the responsibility of the ballplayer.
However, many times hosts are happy to include their players in family meals
when they have no games.
In addition to the rewards of forming lifelong relationship with your player,
the Delaware Cows want to thank those selected to be host parents with a special
gift of:

• Photo with your house guest(s)
• Free registrations to the Delaware Hayes/Cows' summer baseball camp
