DELAWARE, OHIO USA
Welcome to
Delaware, a city and county in the heart of Central Ohio
(approximately 15 miles north of Columbus), in one of the most
dynamic regions of the Midwest.
Delaware County is the fastest growing county in the state. It
has increased it's population by 37.8 percent since the 1990
Census. "Using the 1990 Census data, American Demographics
Inc., identified 20 of the fastest-growing, wealthiest and most
educated areas of the country." Delaware County was 14th on
the list.
But like the fine racing standardbreds in the world-famous
"Little Brown Jug", Delaware has kept its head while
quickening the pace. Citizens, community leaders and consultants
are working together to guide the development of new residential
areas and expanded community services, while maintaining
Delaware's distinctive character.
The Delaware lifestyle includes the cultural offerings of a
national liberal arts university, an unusual variety of
recreational opportunities and the excitement of "The Little
Brown Jug." One of the jewels in the Triple Crown of Grand
Circuit harness racing, "The Jug" brings thousands of
visitors to Delaware each fall.
