Ohio State Student Radio Career
2006- 07 (Junior Season)
Josh returned for his second year and hosted the pre-game and halftime shows for
the football broadcasts. Throughout the season, Josh is going to be all over the
place, like Brian Dawkins on the Philadelphia Eagles defense. He will cover
Men’s Hockey, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Women’s Soccer, Softball and
Baseball. Josh will appear on pre-game and halftime shows as well as provide
play-by-play and color for these sporting events. His highlights of the year
were broadcasting at both the OSU National Championship games and being there
for the exciting Big Ten Softball championships.
2005-06 (Sophomore Season)
Josh joined Ohio State Student Radio in the winter of his sophomore season and
his first assignment was to provide analysis for the Ohio State Women’s
Basketball team’s Big Ten Championship clinching game against Purdue. He then
did analysis for the annual Connor Senn Memorial Soccer game, before a spring
filled with covering baseball and softball.
Prior To Ohio State
Graduated from Cheltenham High School in 2004, having provided play-by-play and
analysis for boys and girls basketball, boy’s soccer and football for two years.
He was also a member of the soccer team for two years and baseball team for four
years.
Personal
Born September 29, 1986…parents are Barnett and Barbara Ellis…has two brothers a
sister and three step brothers, three of which are also paying out-of-state
tuition…writes for UWeekly, a campus-area newspaper, KFFL, a fantasy sports
website/newsletter where he provides sound baseball advice and was the beat
reporter for the OSU Softball team in the Lanten…was the 2004 Ohio State
Intramural Badminton Champion…his 15 minutes of fame occurred when then world
found out that he was the superstitious loon that gave former Buckeye basketball
player Matt Sylvester lucky beads…is also a member of Philadelphia Phillies
second baseman Chase Utley’s official fan group “The Vengabus”
